We will be sailing to Panama canal in Dec on Celebrity. I've tried to find out what might be available for a tour of the canal in Colon, to no avail. My husband spent his youth there. A tour of the canal, it's planned expansion, and a visit to the past would be a wonderful. Any suggestions, advice, etc...would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.....newbee to the sight:)

It appears the OP is on Equinox, which call s at Colon. On our Infinity cruise, with a call at Colon following the transit, we were able to take a tour of Gatun Locks and the expansion center. The Gatun part was accessible, except for the viewing center, but there was a grassy area right by the lock, with benches. You would just miss the view from above. I think the expansion center was accessible, but I can't recall if an accessible bus was available. EM

It's a cruise. Looking for shore tours that accommodate handicapped at stop in Colon. (Didn't plan on walking to the canal:p)

Thanks for the laugh of the day. Wish I could help been thru the canal 4 times but never to Colon. I use a w/c for tours and can walk short distances, I did not find any totally accessible tours at any stop. Sorry
