Long Beach Airport to Cruise Ship Terminal

Recommended Posts

Several Questions:

We are flying into LAX and renting a car, but returning it in at Long Beach Airport. Can anyone tell us if the car rental return area is a short walk back to the taxi stand (how far a walk), or if we need to take a shuttle from car rental return back to taxi stand? And, how much should a taxi cost from the airport to the cruise ship terminal?

Any other advice on how to get to cruise ship terminal from the car rental area is welcome.

Thanks,

Make sure to tell the shuttle driver (or rental desk rep) which port you need a ride to. Carnival uses the Port of Long Beach and just about all of the other ships use the Port of Los Angeles. Don't assume that they won't assume which one you want to go to.

Car rental is literally across the street from the terminal and taxi stands. Maybe 500 feet of walking, max. http://www.lgb.org/travelers/directions.asp

I assume you mean the Long Beach cruise terminal which is Carnival only (with a few rare exceptions). Your signature at the bottom lists a Carnival cruise this month. Almost all other cruises use the LA World Cruiseport in San Pedro, about 10 miles farther away from LGB.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have just been on two different cruises using the Long Beach airport. In front of the rental car building is a little booth for shuttles. The first time we used taxis to and from but discovered the shuttle for our second cruise. The shuttle is a set fee, no meter, and prices are according to where you are going. It was $45 for two people to go to the San Pedro pier. Taxi fares to and from the Long Beach pier were about $36. Either way is very easy. Have a great cruise!
