Rare Hlitner Posted November 27, 2014 #2 Share Posted November 27, 2014 Is there any public transportaion between these two places ? - Yep. You can take the train. The bus is probably a better option (especially from the area of the cruise port) as you can simply hop on the #100 bus (this bus runs quite often). The bus fare is pretty cheap (less then 2 Euros) and you can just pay the driver. If walking out of the port just ask any local (or stop at one of the cafes/shops at the port) to steer you towards the bus stop. Hank
cberge Posted November 28, 2014 #3 Share Posted November 28, 2014 If you face the garden area up from the front of The Casino and look toward your right there are some shops etc..walk over that way and up the slight incline where the street even out to you right and there is a bus stop there about a block up.Runs right into Menton. If you know where you want to get off write it down for the driver as most of them do not speak English.
syesmar Posted November 29, 2014 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2014 Here's a trip planner for the bus: http://www.lignesdazur.com/ri/?rub_code=4 Here's the current bus route & schedule (check the website before your trip for updates): https://www.cg06.fr/documents/A-votre-service/Deplacements/transports-en-commun/100.pdf The Monaco tourism board will send free brochures, maps, etc by mail upon request. I find their map helpful to navigate the bus stops (these are also available at TI offices; one of them, a white booth, is at the harbor). Enjoy your time in this area!! tassietravellers Posted December 2, 2014 #7 Share Posted December 2, 2014 Is there any public transportaion between these two places ? - We stayed in Menton for a week prior to a river cruise in June this year, loved Menton, a lot quieter than most towns along the Riviera, it was a great base to see this area. We flew into Nice and after 2 nights there we caught the #100 bus, it was 1.50 euros( all fares were this didn't matter where you were going) , so cheap. Buses were a very easy way to get around we went to Eze, Monte Carlo and Villefranche-sur-mer, plus we caught a train to Cannes. Public was cheap and very easy to use. Menton has so many very good restaurants, lovely scenery and only about 2kms from the Italian border, we walked there of a night and the view back with the lights was absolutely beautiful.
