Best Panama Canal Itinerary?

Hi all,

Planning forward toward that all important PC cruise in the next couple of years!

Would love recommendations as to the best itinerary? Would like to do something other than the Florida to California, or vice versa as there are too many sea days and the port don't excite much!

Can anyone talk about their experiences on the cruise that go from Florida to South America via the canal? Prefer Oceania or other premium line.

Many thanks! Kim

Kim, I've done them all and there really is not a best.

I would definitely do a full transit of the Canal.

If your itinerary includes a stop at say Panama City I like that since there is much to see there.

The challenge going to South America from say Florida is finding an itinerary with some stops in South America. Personally, to see South America I prefer a cruise that goes say from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso.

Most of the luxury lines have cruises that do go from Florida to South America. I would check out Crystal, Regent, Silversea and Seabourn and Oceania is a high end premium line so check them out as well.

Keith
