Beach Bar or Beach Club

Hi all - I have frequented this board over the last 6-months as we are booked on a Southern Caribbean cruise in January/February 2016. I've read a lot about some great beaches but none are exactly what we're hoping to find. I understand that what we'd like may not exist which is fine as we will have a good time on any beach but figured I'd ask before making a decision.

I'm looking for reco's for an excellent beach day. Here is a little bit about us and what we're looking for:

- 4 adults (32-38yrs) and 2 kids (18 months to 3.5 yrs) [we aren't worried about napping schedules we'll be on the beach all day]

- calm, clean water (if you know a beach that is protected by a reef or is more calm than others please let me know)

- nice facilities (bar/restaurant/clean washrooms - shower is a bonus)

- chair and umbrella rentals available (maybe they have cabanas?)

- we don't mind paying a little more for more amenities and better quality

I haven't heard of any place that offers cabanas yet. Interested in one of these for the little ones. It doesn't need to be as elaborate as what you'd find on the private islands but something that provides a little more space and a little more shade than a traditional umbrella and chair.

If this doesn't exist I'd very much welcome any other beach suggestions. I have heard the following are good and it sounds like they meet most of my (picky?) criteria: Jacqui O, Valley Church, Galley Bay.

Thanks in advance,

i dont know if you would consider a day pass at Jolly beach resort. we did this twice in the spring. The water was very calm, not at all busy, we were seated about 15 yards away from the next people and they were 15 yards away and so on. there are no cabanas but since you are so far spaced apart we felt like we had a private beach. with the day pass you get breakfast and liunch, all drinks, beach and chairs , umbrellas, 2 pools; one with a swim up beach bar. it was a like a little slice of heaven. there were children so i know they are allowed. it is 75$ a person ( i think cheaper for kids but I didnt have a kid so not sure) you get non moterized water sports like kayak or mini catamaran. We had only planned to do it once but loved it so much that we went back the next week. we were on a back to back cruise so it stopped there twice. the first time we had a group of 40 from our facebook group and everyone loved it. if you get more than 10 people they give a 10% discount. here is a refiew from our trip http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g1184696-d282774-Reviews-Jolly_Beach_Resort_Spa-Bolans_Saint_Mary_s_Antigua_Antigua_and_Barbuda.html

We just returned and thoroughly enjoyed coconut grove restaurant and bar in Dickenson Bay. We traveled with our q8 month old and I felt very comfortable with her walking up to her ankles in the surf because it was so gentile there.

We arrived and rented chairs and umbrellas. (No cabanas). I would suggest maybe getting an extra 1 or 2 umbrellas to have added shade for your kids. We had a sun shade that we brought from LLBean that worked well for us at each beach.

The restaurant had good food and I was surprised with the portion size- very American (if that's something that suits your fancy). We enjoyed rum punches and being able to hear low music coming from sandals in the distance.

One of our top days on the vacation!
