Britannia cabin for 4

Can anyone tell me if a balcony cabin with a sofa bed and a pulman also has a double bed or does it have to be 2 singles. Also is the balcony accessible when the sofa bed and pulman are made up for the evening? Also in a balcony cabin with 2 pulmans the only option online with P&O is 2 single beds but it does say that this can be changed to a double on request. Anyone know if this is correct? My son, wife and 2 children are looking for the best configuration with access to the balcony once the children are asleep, if this is ever likely to happen!!

I can only answer one question. If the pull down beds are used the only bed configuration is twin.

The brochure has an notation which states.

All upper berths in twin cabins are accessible via a ladder. When the upper berths are in use lower berths cannot be converted to a double. Restricted access to balcony when upper berth is in use.

There are more than one type of four birth cabin available on the Britannia.

Two upper pullman berths, double sofa bed and finally one upper pullman and a single sofa bed.

You really have to look closely at the brochure to see the codes. There are so tiny.

It looks like once you use an upper pullman you are going to have restricted access to the balcony. So any configuration is going to result in this.

We have cruised with P&O and Princess with a Pullman bed in use. On both lines they will still make up a double underneath the Pullman, it just means you have to use the ladder at the end of the Pullman rather than the side and it then blocks the end of the double bed.

In reality if the third/4th person are agile enough they don't need a ladder. Stand on the lower bed and pull yourself up.
