Ocho Rios beaches/excursions?

Going on our first cruise on the Norwegian Epic and from all the great info I'm finding, it sounds like we really don't want to book an excursion through the cruise line. A beach day would be great if there is a nice beach within a reasonable distance to the port. Thought about the zipline/tubing excursion. Any thoughts/recommendations? Thanks for any help!

I'd like some info here too! Haven't been to Ocho in at least 15 years...just want a beach day, keep it simple.

Ocho Rios beaches are not fabulous. Some of the resorts have nice beaches, but their public beaches are just OK. I'd opt for some sort of adventure tour in this area.....zip-lines, tubing, waterfalls, bobsled, etc.

Almost everything in Ocho Rios is all inclusive resorts. You can usually get day passes for them through the resort. Most have small beaches but they are nice. Not like the Negril area though. You won't be strolling down the beach for a walk.

There are a lot of nice all inclusives for couples only.
