Harleychs Posted September 10, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2017 We are new to cruising and have decided upon Adriatric Explorer with Tui Discovery 2 for next year which sails from Corfu to Slovenia, Venice, Croatia and Montenegro and I have heard that the scenery is amazing. I have heard lots of conflicting information regarding where is best to be on ship to avoid motion sickness. I don't know whether we will get motion sickness on this cruise but if I was to sail from say Dover to Calais in rough seas then I definitely would. Is lower midship deck 2/3 better or should I book a midship or aft balcony on Deck 6/7. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks
Rare Keith1010 Posted September 10, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2017 First priority is mid-ship. Then if you can get a room that is on a lower deck all the better. Avoid being on the highest of the passengers decks. Again make mid ship the starting point. The scenery will be amazing. When it comes to rough seas it can really happen anywhere. Some routes are more prone to rougher seas like Dover as you mentioned but whenever you sail there is always a risk. Also, come prepared with a sea sickness remedy to be on the safe side. Cruising is great. I hope you enjoy it. Keith
crystalspin Posted September 11, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2017 lower midship deck 2/3 better. Remember this is not the bottom of the ship, only the lower of passenger decks.
