Help from guests departing anyship from port canaveral

I am looking for help regarding time frames. I am looking into a flight leaving Jacksonville at 3:45 pm. Would there be enough time to get off ship, go through customs, get shuttle to rental car, get car, drive to jax airport (2 1/2 hrs) and make flight?

I know sounds like a lot but price out of Orlando is $275/pp vs out of JAX $130/pp x 9 of us that's like $1200

Rental car is only $30

I think so. We were off early and the lines were long and moved slow. Just be ready to move.

Sounds doable to me. Just get off the ship as early as you can.

It shouldn't be a problem as I-95 zooms by within miles of the port and JAX. You'll have some time to spare. :-)

You want to try to do self embarkation-- getting off the ship carrying your own luggage

Getting off with the first wave will waste another 30 minutes or so

You should be fine as long as you self disembark . You should be able to be off the ship by 8-9.

Don't forget to sign up for car rental loyalty programs and fill in all details ahead of time. You may be able to skip lines if you do (some even prep your car, you just get in and go).

Look into 2 way car rental. We did a 5 day cruise from port Canaveral a few years ago, rented from orlando, drove to PC, parked at a rental car parking lot, took a taxi (1 mile x2). It saved us money and time, when we got off the ship, the taxi and the rental car were waiting. Park at the official parking garage if you want to save even more time. Drop the car off at Orlando. The time to pickup-up then drop-off, then later to pick-up and then drop off can add up as compared to a 2 way rental.

Time saved = Money paid, Money saved = Time lost.

Do self disembark early. Also, grab a porter for the luggage. They tend to get through customs faster. This was true for us at PC last May.
