Disembarkation Galveston

We are looking for a cruise out of Galveston on either the Carnival Magic or the Freedom.

Does anyone have a general idea what time they disembark when they come back?

I remember fog in Galveston often delays ships. Is this a common problem in September?

(We have a party we must attend in Austin the afternoon one of the ships come in, and we are trying to decide if it is realistic we can get back in time. If not, then we would take the other ship.)

I just got off of the ship on Sunday and we headed off of the ship at 8:30 and was at our car at 9 am.

Mother Nature has cooperated and Fog has not been a real

problem this year.

We did NOT do self assist but are platinum. That being said they forgot us in the dining room so we didn't get a jump on anybody :p and we were off at 8:45. We had arranged a ride at 9 and didn't get through customs (long line even for passport) until 9:15ish. Still not bad 30 minutes from dinging out, getting luggage, finding porter and waiting in customs line.
