We were there on the Sapphire Princess on the 6th. Nice little town. Found a restaurant near the cathedral that made really good mole. Unfortunately we discovered this place after we had already eaten. But the owner let us sample the mole and adobo sauces. She cooked over an open fire with mesquite and clay pots. If we ever go to Loreto again, we are definitely eating there.

Too bad we were full from Orlando's. That was way too Gringo for us.

Entrance for Fonda looks like either someones front patio or an antique store. There are alll sizes of pots, pans and chilis all over the place.

We were also here on the 6th with the Sapphire Princess, what a lovely day we had. We booked with Vive Loreto for snorkeling and they were great, met us at the dock and handled everything including fittings for wet suits.

Hi, SadieN and Rosefloater....we can't wait to do this itinerary again.

Tickled2Trvl - how did you end up paying for your Vive Loreto tour? We are in the process of booking a tour and they are asking for a wire transfer to a Wells Fargo account, is that what they had you do?

We ended up not doing the wire payment, and paid fully in cash at the office in Loreto. We had a great trip with Vive Loreto Tours, and I fully recommend them to anyone considering an ATV experience in Loreto. The guide totally accommodated our experience levels allowing my wife and son to have a fun time and leave the tour saying they would most definitely do it again!
