I wouldn't call it a "lesson" - it's an activity, like many others on the ship. What you didn't see in the video is the sometimes long line for it. Most folks just swing out and drop.

I remember being on Ocean Village II, and they had aerial trapeze entertainers. They offered a lesson on the hoop and about 30 of us turned up - most people were aged about 70 - except me - but I was SO THE WORST!! I had to be pretty much lifted up due to having no upper body strength, then all the hanging upside down gave me the most amazing bruises on the back of my legs - about 12 inches long and 4inches wide which stayed for the rest of the holiday. I looked like I had been in an accident! Yet, I will remember being up on stage hanging off that hoop for the rest of my life!
