Galveston Terminals ~ Parking lot closed, Construction?

We have some friends who are first time cruisers who are planning to book a cruise this year on RC Navigator in September.

In looking at the terminals on Google, it appears there is some construction going on around both Terminal 1 and 2. The parking lot in front of the terminal appears to be closed.

Can anyone confirm this?

Am I correct in thinking that Royal Caribbean uses terminal 2?

I know Google isn't always up to date so I may be looking at an outdated picture.

Thanks!

RCI uses Terminal 2.

The area in front of the terminals are for pick up and drop off only.

Some parking lots are across Harborside Drive, in front of the terminals.

There are many lots near the terminals on Harborside, Market St., etc.

Most lots require luggage to be dropped off at terminal, park then take shuttle to port.

Across the street, one could walk, but Terminal 2 is a much linger walk through traffic.

Some offer discounts for reserving on line.

There are a couple of threads on parking in Gulf Coast Departures.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I was beginning to think no one would. :D

I noticed you are in Galveston. Do you know whether there is on-going construction around Terminal 2?
