Calm Clean Beach close to Maho

We are planning to arrive at Maho late morning to watch the planes. We would like to have another beach that is close to or on way to Maho that has clear turquoise and calm waters that are good for swimming. I know Maho is pretty rough so we don't plan to stay the day there.

We took a cab over to Mullet Bay, next to Maho and hung out during the day. Then around noon we just walked over to Maho to watch the planes. We had a great time and it was beautiful there.

LeGalion on the other side of the island from Maho is the only beach that I know on the island that is always calm.

Simpson Bay beach and Mullet bookend Maho and both are much nicer beaches IMO but I wouldn't guarantee calm water at either. I love both beaches but I think Mullet is the prettier of the two.
