911 museum info requested

We will be in NYC Sept 2014 for a cruise. My wife and I would like to visit the 911 site and we were wondering when the new museum would open. The last I heard it was scheduled to open in the Spring of 2014. Does anyone have any info about the new museum?

I heard on the news that it opened this week 😃 so yes, it should be open in September.

I would love it if someone would post -- the average time to get through the museum. We went to the museum for the Oklahoma City bombing memorial and were told (by the security guard) that it typically takes 2-3 hours. We were there for 4 hours and did not get through it all. I wish we had had more time 👍

It was dedicated and opened this morning...

The museum's dedication ceremony was held today (5/14), but the museum is not actually open to the public until 5/21 (and that day's tickets are sold out).
