Does any one know (even if estimate) when the 3 formal nights are on the South American 14 day cruise is on the Emerald Princess? We're trying to plan our excursions and spa days.

And any suggestions on any of the excursions?

Thank you.

What ports will you be visiting? BA to Valparaiso around the Horn? or LA to Val? From Fort Lauderdale maybe?

Sailing B.A. to Valparaiso, most likely your 1st sea day, the last sea day, but not the last evening of the cruise, and maybe a port day like Ushuaia where you depart at 4pm.

Sailing Valparaiso to B.A., three of the 4 sea days, but never the last night of the cruise.

In both cases it is possible that there will only be two formal evenings. This is a decision made by the staff on board.

thank you very much. we're visiting 8 ports, going valparaiso to BA around the Horn. our travel itinerary says 3 formal nights.

We did this itinerary this past winter. When we boarded we were informed that there would be two formal nights, but then the staff added the third. I think Princess makes good money on formal night photos, so they probably didn't want to give one of them up.

We actually went the same way but I can't remember the formal nights except after the Falklands.

We did a few fabulous excursions including to the King Island Colony from Stanley and a great day at Tambo Colarado from Pisco. We usually find excursions that include a meal are a bit iffy but we had a terrific full day excursion in Lima that included a visit to a working Hacienda, folkloric displays, horsemen, carriage rides, pisco sours, a wonderful meal with free flowing wine and dancing. All this, plus a visit to the magnificent Pachacamac Ruins. You're going to love this cruise.
