Dajbman22 Posted September 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2014 (edited) We are docked in Oranjestad from 8am to 10pm and during the daytime we are probably going to be taking an excursion on the Mi Dushi after constant raving from my parents & brother, and then relaxing and having dinner on the ship. Since the ship is in port so late and we tend to eat an early dinner, there will time time for some evening activities back in port. Overall, I think the best idea is just an hour/hour and a half long stroll through the city, but a list of cool places to check out in the evening (and maybe a bar or two to pop in for a drink) would be helpful in route planning. This will be a Thursday evening in early January. Edited September 24, 2014 by Dajbman22
Arubalisa Posted September 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 24, 2014 With the exception of some bars, restaurants and casinos or taking in a movie, downtown is quieter at night than Palm Beach. ;) You can always take a stroll to take in the "vibe" and if it is too sedate hop the bus or take a taxi to Palm Beach. cb at sea Posted September 24, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 24, 2014 There are casinos across from the dock...maybe you could stroll there, and try your luck! We were in port until 2am, so we shopped and beached in the day, went to the ship and showered/changed, and went to dinner downtown. Can't remember the name of the restaurant, but we sat outdoors, and there was a combo playing...very pleasant! Then, we walked thru some of the casinos.....they were so busy, we couldn't find a seat at a BJ table! Long day...headed back to the ship earlier than planned!
