Floridiana Posted January 22, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2011 I wonder whether it is necessary/advisable/not necessary to change US dollars into Quetzal for the few hours we will be in Antigua on Good Friday. Will any store be open on such a high holiday? I love Guatemalan cloth and would buy if I could.

We have just returned from cruise through Panama Canal with stop at Guatemal, we did take a Quetzel as well as dollars, quite a few shops had good dispayed in local currency but were willing to take either so not a problem but don't know about religious holidays.
