Progresso VS Coz - Shopping

Heading to Progresso for the first time in a couple weeks... Wondering if the shopping there is similiar to the shopping in Cozumel? Prices any better in Progresso than Coz?

Pretty much the same, and I would say a little cheaper in Progreso..

If you plan a shopping day and a water day, go shopping in Progresso. The Carribean waters of Cozumel are much nicer than the Gulf waters of Progresso.

If you plan something else on your non-shopping day, well, I guess it would depend what you want to do... (If you want to go see ruins- see them in Progresso- Uxmal is my recommendation, then shop in Cozumel.)

I really haven't noticed a lot of difference in in the prices between the 2 places. Maybe a dollar or two but if seems to even out with the things I buy which are mostly just souvenier type things-vanilla, shot glasses, t shirts, etc.

I would take a tour to Uxmal and then head to Merida. The market is Merida is great. We found the prices in Merida it be much better than in Cozumal, especially wood carvings.
