TandG_VA Posted September 13, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2016 Does anyone have any updated info on accessibility on Busses, Ferries, sidewalks, etc in Bermuda? Beach wheelchairs? I see some older threads but was hoping for some updated experiences. Thank you!
njhorseman Posted September 13, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2016 (edited) Buses are not wheelchair accessible. Ferries that run between Dockyard and Hamilton are accessible. Ferries that run between Dockyard St. George are accessible only with crew assistance, provided in their judgement they can safely provide that assistance. Sidewalks are variable, even on Front St. in Hamilton, one of the main areas where tourists go. Sidewalks in the Royal Naval Dockyard should be OK. I don't know if the beach wheelchairs they used to have at Horseshoe Bay are still available. Edited September 13, 2016 by njhorseman
HockeyChick15 Posted September 17, 2016 #3 Share Posted September 17, 2016 The ferry between dockyard and Hamilton is accessible, the ferry between the dockyard and St. George is not. I was shocked how the ferry worked tried to help a few individuals in manual and power chairs on the ferry. I thought they were going over. Not their fault as they are not trained to do this, but if it was me, I would not take the ferry to St. George.
