Air Tran Airways..

I was researching for airfare and came across this AirTran Airways...

My question is has anyone heard of them or have any experience with them. They are drasically cheaper on airfare, which is nice considering how high Southwest and American are right now.

Any and all input is greatly appreciated.

Ryan,

Airtran has been around for a while.

Their fleet is made up of Boeing 717's and 737's. Average age of aircraft is less than 4 years. Compared to other airlines that are flying 20+ year old aircraft, that aint bad.

I would choose Airtran over Southwest any day.

Upgrades to business class seating is cheap.

I would say go for it.

As far as what you get on Airtran you wont notice much difference from other airlines. Same seats, same can of soda and same bag of pretzels, peanuts or a cookie.

I've flown AirTran a couple of times without problems.

We did see a huge long line in Ft. Lauderdale airport on our way home from our last cruise. It was Air Tran!:eek:

Great airline, fly them all the time. Newer planes and never had any kind of problem what so ever. Yes they do have great rates which is why my friends and I choose them quite alot. Don't hesitate.

Ryan. You've had good advice. I fly them when I can. They consistantly rank second or third in overall service. As a comparison, Delta ranks 12th and USAir 13th.

We prefer AirTran also. Never had any problems and they post their fares earlier than Southwest, which is our next best pick.

I fly AirTran frequently out of Orlando. I like them a lot -- no problems up to now. The long lines can often be avoided by checking in on line 24 hours in advance. Get your boarding pass and check your luggage outside at the curbside checkin. Much shorter lines!

You all are so helpful, I greatly appreciate it. I am going to throw caution to the wind and book the flights.
