tips do you have to pay? There is a daily service charge added to your account, It can be stopped or removed by contacting guest services. But personally I think the system is fair to all who work on the ship. The staff do not expect any further tips but will accept them if done extremely discreetly.

Took all inclusive drinks package seems drinks in mini bar aren't included ? Not on the basic package but is included in the premium package

Dressing for dinner is it compulsory? No

and is it better to just walk off ship at ports and do your own thing That depends on how confident you in foreign parts and map reading. the ship will not wait for you if you are late, but will wait for its own excursions. if you do your research about each port then you should be able to walk off independently. bear in mind that some docks are in heavily industrialised areas

any info is really helpful

Bon voyage - have a wonderful cruise. Splendida is a beautiful ship.

Bear in mind that shorts aren't allowed in the MDR at dinner. Dress codes are "suggested" ones and are advised on the bottom left on the front page of the daily program. They are:

Gala - Ladies: dressy outfit, formal gown or cocktail dress. Gents: tuxedo, dinner jacket or dark suit and tie.

Informal - Ladies: informal dress or trousers and blouse. Gents: jacket and trousers (no jeans).

Casual - Ladies: dress, trousers suit or sporty outfit. Gents: t-shirt, trousers or jeans.

Theme Party - Indications of how to dress will be provided in the daily program on the day of the event. They are 60s, 70s, 80s (Flower Glory) night, White night and Italian night ususally, though MSC has been changing these up in recent times.

Tank tops, swimsuits, bathrobes and bare feet are not permitted either in the restaurants or the buffet. Short trousers are only allowed in the buffet.
