Just back from Cuban fusion

There were 3 couples in our party. It was our first cruise on the Dream after 3 on Celebration. The flight from Gatwick on the 787 Dreamliner went well with a good entertainment system. A long queue at immigration took about half an hour, but a smooth embarkation. Our cases were outside our cabins when we boarded, and then off to explore the ship. I liked the way that all the inside bars were on one deck (8). We all thought the food in both the Lido buffet and Orion main restaurant was very good. we also liked very much the supplement restaurant Sirens. As usual the staff were always friendly and helpful. We were all impressed with live music in the bars, although we didn't use the theatre. We didn't use any ship excursion's. Grand Cayman: we went for the 2nd time to Stingray city with Dexter's Fantasea's tours, great half day with no more than 20 people on a trimaran. $40 as opposed £55 from Thomson. Overnight in Havana!!! Fantastic town. We used the Hop on Hop off bus for $10, we couldn't get on the open air upper deck and the lower deck's sound system was rubbish, could not hear a thing. Maybe better to use one of the vintage car tours. Just walk around old Havana, we had no problems at all there is music everywhere. On the evening we went to the El Floridta bar, too packed and couldn't get a drink. So we went to a bar we had seen earlier in the day, it just around and called Moserrate bar. We had such a good night here, great music, drinks, and staff, its a must!. Cozumel, go to a beach and lunch and a beer.

All in all had a brilliant time.

Hi we are booked on the Cuban fusion/Pride of Panama next year, so lots of time to wait for that one.

I read up about Visas and a bit shocked to see that we need to pay over 70.00 each, bit steep for an overnight stay. Is there a short stay one you can get?

You do not need a Visa for Havana and you will not get it delivered to your cabin. You have to go through immigration at the port - there will be queues especially if you disembark as soon as you arrive. You do not have to have a stamp put in your passport if you think you may be visiting the US in the future.

You can come and go between the ship and the port as often as you like but you must show your passport.
