dleighb Posted September 9, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 9, 2012 I currently have us booked for The Secret River on our cruise in November. I am worried though about being cold and miserable during the water portion. Also, my husband and I enjoy taking photos and have underwater housing for our camera making it pretty good at low lighting shots. So, we're a little disappointed that we can't bring our cameras. Our other options are Xcaret and Xel-ha. So, of the three, any suggestions or recommendations. Is the Secret River excursion worth being cold and not being able to take pictures? ABQrobin Posted March 12, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 12, 2015 (edited) the water temp of ALL the cenotes in the Yucatan are 72 degrees. It feels chilly at first but your body adjusts to it once you start moving around. The Secret Rivers tour does NOT allow cameras. All cenotes are privately owned by the Mayan tribe that own the land it is on. Their rule. The Underground River tour does allow.... we took our GoPro and a few others took waterproof cameras. my video: we really loved this excursion and plan to do it again later this year when we can take our son!!!
