Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted January 19, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted January 19, 2015 You are the best and so truly appreciate all the help! Just one question, I found a place on Papagayo Beach that rents kayaks, snorkel gear and wave runners, I am not sure where it is on the island, would you happen to know the distance and price of the cab to go there? Your opinion, which would be better for snorkeling Papagayo or La Cabana? Thanks a bunch big hug to you.
Isa65 Posted January 19, 2015 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2015 The distance to Papagayo is 7.5 miles. Cab fare will be high (between $40 - $50 one way). Could you post the link to the Papagayo kayak rental? I know that Adrenaline does this, but not sure about any other vendor at Jan Thiel.... Snorkeling - Cabana is man made, so you have to swim out to the wave breaker wall to see any sea life. The Eastern beaches are not popular for snorkeling, but Papagayo / Jan Thiel beach would have more to see under water.
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted January 19, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted January 19, 2015 I don't have a link I originally wrote email yesterday to RonRon Watersports and Heidi, commercial manager wrote me back explaining the name has changed to All in One Watersports. There is no link given but I will copy the information she gave me. Dear Lynda, Thank you for your e-mail. RonRon Watersports changed it's name into All in One Watersports and is located at the populair Papagayo Beach, Jan Thiel. This is approximately 25 minutes from the cruise ship pier. Your family can rent our single kayaks, but it is depending on the waves and current if this would work out on the day you arrive. The price of the kayak rental is $15,00 per kayak. If they would like to rent a jetski at least one person on the jetski needs to be at least 18 years old. You can rent them with single or double occupancy or go on a tour to several other spots, like downtown Willemstad, the Tugboat and Spanish Water. For the tour we need at least 2 jetskies. I added all of the watersport/ jetski activities below. Isa65 Posted February 12, 2015 #9 Share Posted February 12, 2015 What's the cost of a cab on the other side of the pontoon bridge to these beaches? They will probably charge you the same. But you can always tell them that you walked across, so you need a discount:D. Since you're already on the "other side", you can also take the public bus to Mambo for about $2 per person.
