Carnival Valor... Favorite Deck & Why?

I will be sailing out of Galveston June 2018 (long ways away, I know) and I've noticed there are very few reviews/threads about Valor. Is there anything wrong with her???

Since there are few, I figured I would start a thread and see where it goes.

On Valor, which deck is your favorite and give specific reasons why. I want to experience every deck but want to know the high lights.

I'm sailing on the Valor on 10 days first time with Carnival. I noticed too that the talk about the Valor is very sparse. I'll let you know what I think on my return.😀

I will be going on the Valor in May! First cruise. Last family vacation before son #2 leaves me (graduates next year and plans on going to the Air Force :loudcry:). I am looking forward to it and have done everything in my power not to start packing already :'). I would love to know more about the Valor and all it has to offer!

Yes, the conversations are extremely sparse. I wonder why that is so...

I'll be going on the Valor on my first cruise April 22. My co-worker is sailing out tomorrow. The Valor used to sail out of Florida but is now port in Galveston. Not sure if that is why there's not a lot of conversations?

The link doesn't work but I'm wanting more of a user's view of any particular deck and what they enjoyed most about it.

We sailed on Valor last summer. It was a good size for a first cruise, not our first. Loved the upgrades, Alchemy Bar was my favorite spot. It was a summer and packed cruise. Hard to get into a comedy show. Casino is open so if you don't smoke, beware. There was a great oldies band but right by the Casino - not a favorite place for us as we like to breath fresh air. Also on our trip the piano player was hurt, so there wasn't any piano bar music after the first night or 2. Wasn't my favorite decor. And our room steward was not to be found. My sister was on the same cruise, different deck, and she had a great room steward. Food was ok, but we had a bad experience in the specialty dining steak restaurant. But it was our first time to on a Southern cruise, 3 new ports for us. That was really good. Also entertainment, although sparsely attended, the shows were very good. But any cruise is a good cruise. Most of the staff was great. Do the sea day brunch, really nice. Watch the daily Compass for specials. And have a great time!

This is just a wild guess, but does it have anything to do with the Valor's limited port options? She only goes to two places so maybe that has something to do with it.

But then again, Triumph goes to the same places. Lots more talk about her

I'm not sure as I am just getting into the cruising world. She's been around for a bit So it's not like she's a young ship. Curioser and Curioser...

I am leaving on the Valor on 4/27 and it will be my first time on this ship; however, I sailed on her sister ship - Freedom - last summer. Since they are basically the same, here were my favorite spots:

-Serenity -clamshells and hot tubs

-Adults only pool - tables for eating back here that are very secluded too

-Alchemy Bar

-The promenade for people watching

Our favorite activities were:

-Eating at the MDR each night

-Comedy Shows, Entertainment Shows

-Alchemy Bar

-Piano Bar

-Pool deck (obviously)

This will be our first cruise. We sail May 20th. I know our cruise will more than likely be more crowded since schools will be getting out around that time. Did you do any of the excursions?

We're on the Valor right now. I plan to post more when we return but just to let you know, the aft pool is now family friendly. The adults only Serenity area is all the way forward on 11,in front of the spa. No pool or hot tubs. Just deck chairs and a few clamshells.

My favourite deck is 9, because it had my cabin on. It was the 6k grand scenic ocean view. I've never spent that much time inside a cabin before but sunset/sunrise or stargazing was just amazing. We had 9200 and it has floor to ceiling windows all around one entire side. It's also around twice the floor space of a regular ocean view with very little added cost.

Loved itinerary and the ship. Best cruise ever!

We're on the Valor right now. I plan to post more when we return but just to let you know, the aft pool is now family friendly. The adults only Serenity area is all the way forward on 11,in front of the spa. No pool or hot tubs. Just deck chairs and a few clamshells.

That's odd. From the deck plans, deck 11 is fitness/spa/sports deck. Did they add a pool somewhere?

Sorry typo. Deck 12. There is no adult only pool.
