Anyone used Uber in Rome?

Are there advantages to using Uber rather than taxi or metro? We've never used Uber before, but thought we'd consider all our options.

Search doesn't seem to be working for me this morning, but there was a recent discussion on using Uber in Rome which said it's not worth it. The prices are not much different from regular taxis.

Also you will be using up you cell phone data looking for their cars.
