Cruisfan Posted February 24, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2013 Without taking into account the personal purchases of gifts, souvenirs, etc, how much can we expect to spend on a typical day in Venice, ie vaporetto, admission fees, lunch, drinks. I realize this is an individual choice but I'm trying to estimate how many Euros I should get. Cruisfan
rebeccalouiseagain Posted February 24, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 24, 2013 Credit cards can be used for meals and purchases. For snacks, like gelato and vaporetto tickets you'll need cash. 100 Euros for a two people is about right. You probaby won't use them all but good to have. Rare Hlitner Posted February 24, 2013 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2013 Keep in mind that there are plenty of ATMs throughout Venice (and Europe) where you can always get Euros if needed (just make sure to notify your issuing bank of your itinerary and have a 4 digit PIN). Both MC and Visa are pretty widely accepted although some smaller cafes still only accept cash. Many cruises line also sell and buy back Euros (although not at the best rates) so you probably do not have to be concerned with getting stuck with Euros.
