Place to chill out in the shade for a few hours?

My wife and I will be visiting BVI as part of cruise in November.

My wife cannot be in the sun, but we like to find a bar/café on or near a beach where we can sit in the shade and have a bucket of cold beers and relax for a few hours.

Any suggestions for a place that we can easily take a cab from Tortola to visit?

Nicole's beach bar at Brewers Bay or any number of places in Cane Garden Bay. CGB will be more busy as many cruisers go there. You might also consider Josiah's Bay or Lambert Bay as they too have beach bars.

Trellis Bay has a bar at the Beef Island Guest House but the bay is not one of my favorites and I don't consider it much of a beach.

Meant to add another option if you don't mind paying more for taxi fare, our favorite spot to relax under shade with cocktails is the Bananakeet on Windy Hill overlooking beautiful Carrot, Apple, and Long Bays. Not on a beach but just up the hill from CGB offering spectacular views that never get old. Also nice views of Jost, Sandy Spit, and St John and St Thomas. And their signature drink, the Bananakeet, is yummy! If you wanted to surprise your wife with something a little special you could taxi to CGB first, then grab a taxi to Bananakeet which is just 5 minutes away, then grab a taxi back to the port from there. Just a bit more memorable...We've stayed at the Heritage Inn but I can't remember what time the bar opens so you'd have to contact Bonky to find out if interested.

Another option is an island tour with a beach stop, if you don't mind sharing the safari taxi with others it's a very inexpensive way at ~$25pp to see the beauty of Tortola and get some beach time at CGB.
