Do taxis allow kids without carseats?

I was wondering if taxis in the Bahamas are allowed to drive with children that don't have carseats. I have 2 girls ages 1 and 4 and I don't intend on carrying a carseat with me the entire time. Will they deny me if I don't have my own carseat, or is it ok to ride one without it? I've been in taxis many time in the US and have never had to use a carseat for my kids. Just wondering if anybody have any experience with this.
