Sorry for not seeing this earlier.

The homemade tequila referenced here was produced at 100% Agave, which is no longer around. He put it in water bottles for you. It was easy to carry back on the ship.

The owner though has a new spot "Fernando's" on the beach between the Mini Super and Ibiza Sunset just south of Martillo along the malecon. Fernando and Nohoch Kay both carry a locally made whiskey/hooch/moonshine that is distilled in Xaclak, the coastal town down a few miles from Mahahual. Fernando is also supposed to carry a craft beer from the same brewery/distillery.

He was not open when I was in Mahahual in January (only 1 ship in and it was leaving early) so I did not stop in. At Nohoch Kay, they sell the hooch in their small shop. Comes in a labeled bottle, so might be more difficult to bring back on board to your cabin. It is a bit strong; moonshine is a very good description.
