Getaway iConcierge app

Due to sail in 3 weeks on Getaway.

Our last experiences with the iConcierge app on board were less than stellar.

Our issue was with the messaging...texts were delayed by hours and even days a couple times.

Any recent GA cruisers have comments about the app? Would love to use it if it works well now..

Is this the app where you pay 7.95 to download it? What does it do? Does it not go against your Sprint, Verizon etc account? Do you need to download prior to boarding? Need info on this app.

The app is FREE to download and use for limited things on board (activities, menus, your room bill, excursions, etc.).

If you want ONBOARD texting and calling (unlimited passenger to passenger) it is $7.95 per device for the duration of the cruise.

Download (before you go) and at least make use of the basic free part! After on board, you can decide it you want the calling/texting feature.

We had it for our May 2nd sailing on the Getaway. Worked great for onboard texting between iPhones 90% of the time. A few texts never got through. Easy to tell if texts were received or not. Public areas and outside balcony staterooms were all good. Interior stateroom had some problems.

We used this app on the Getaway last May and it worked wonderful most of the time. Never really had problems texting. The only issue I did find was when we were on the balcony it was a little iffy. But within the ship we never had delayed messages.
