Place to stay on I-10 going in to New Orleans

We will be on the Oct 13 sailing out of New Orleans. Will be coming from Oklahoma and will be coming in to New Orleans on I-10. This trip we are not going to have the extra time to enjoy your city, so are looking for a place to stay that will be about an hour or 2 drive to the port. We are traveling with children so the main attraction in lodging is a safe motel/hotel. Would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

There's actually a nice Embassy Suites Convention Center hotel that may meet your needs. And a Hilton Garden hotel. Both can be found at the Hilton website. Enjoy your cruise!

There is an Embassy Suites on Constitution Avenue near the southern edge of Baton Rouge that I have stayed at a number of times. Nice place, and lots of reataurants close by. That would put you a little over an hour from the port.
