spr5988 Posted December 6, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 6, 2016 So this might not be the best spot to ask this question but I couldn't find a more appropriate board. I'm getting married on a cruise out of New York. Woo! We have guests I'd like to provide parking for that are sailing with us. It's about 30 cars and I can find transportation to bring us there and back but I don't know where the 30 cars would stay for the cruise because they definitely can't fit where I live. Parking at the port is expensive so is there parking near the ny port that's more affordable for guests or a transportation company you know of that we could hire to bring us from ct to ny and that we could leave our cars at? Any suggestions appreciated! Thanks!
easyboy Posted December 6, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 6, 2016 We always use the port terminal parking area in NY. About $20 a day, more in Manhattan. You will really be overwhelmed by the total price for 30 cars, when you think if you will pay it by yourself. But for individual cars, we find it reasonable as just a few drinks a night and not worry about security of the car. Maybe you can suggest a car pool for those who find the parking fees pricey. cb at sea Posted December 7, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 7, 2016 Your friends need to carpool....especially, if you're paying for it! Thats a MAJOR expense!
icem86 Posted December 11, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 11, 2016 Try asking question on the East Coast Departures page. Good luck.
zoncom Posted December 17, 2016 #5 Share Posted December 17, 2016 I would leave the parking to your guests, Many will arrive by public transportation too. Also, responsibility on them in case of any damages done to their cars while parked. And it does happen in big cities.
FireStation46 Posted February 19, 2017 #6 Share Posted February 19, 2017 If Newark Airport is an option try http://www.newarklongtermparking.com/ Then call 212.777.777 and arrange for large limos/SUV to run you into NYC. As long as you pre-pay they should be fine. You can always ask for a discount for such a large group
