EGCruisers Posted April 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2015 Our family of 10 (6 adults and 4 young children) will be docking in Portree, Isle of Skye, in July. What are the "must sees"? There seem to be a number of small boat cruises that tout wildlife sightings of sea eagles, whales, etc. What could we expect to see at that time of the year? (Yes, I know you can not guarantee seeing any particular animal, but I guess I am really asking what wildlife is in that area at that time of year.) Of the castles on the island, including Eilean Donan, which I know is not really on the island, which is most interesting? Has anyone had experience with any of the tour operators -- boat and land--that they can recommend? Thank you!

syesmar Posted April 23, 2015 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2015 (edited) Hi, I visited Skye in 2009 & 2010 by cruise ship. I'll give the links that I have, although I'm not sure what's currently being offered. The first year, we did the "On the Wing" tour offered by the Aros Center. At the time, they had regularly scheduled departures. Contact them to see if they still offer tours: http://www.aros.co.uk The 2nd year, we went with Kathleen MacAskil to see the other side of the island. We organized this trip with our Roll Call. http://www.skyetours.co.uk http://whatsonskye.com/glenedin-coaches/ http://www.tourskye.com Both were fabulous! Would love to go back! Enjoy Skye!
