It is hard to believe that it is nearly the end of September, but we have had a surprise the last couple of days. Our Hibiscus plant which stops blooming by the end of August, produced several more flowers.

Lower Falls at Letchworth State Park, NY

Love the baby frog on the window.

We used to have some toads in the back yard. Haven't seen any the last 3 - 4 years.

Lovely waterfall shot - that part of NY is beautiful indeed! Also love the odd angles and views of the arch - that's something you don't often see. And the flowers and froggie too!

Here are a few shots from this past weekend, out and about at the local wetlands, this time with the bigger camera and lens (Sony A68, Tamron 150-600mm) - I generally wait to break out the long lens until the weather cools, but I feel bad letting it sit too long so I bore the horrible heat and humidity to give it a chance to shoot.

Fresh new batch of baby alligators - this one at the top is sleeping in the sun, but note that down into the reeds are layer upon layer of baby alligator - about 12 in total:

An osprey flying over, having a close look for any unaware fish in the lake:

The beautiful painted buntings have returned for the winter. Unfortunately the feeders they like to frequent are in deep shadow, so not much light on them and high ISO required!:

Niece Summer asked me to do the photos for her wedding to Roy and I was happy to say "yes". By the end of the night, my feet hated me but I had a great time and managed not to leave the lens cap on.

Friday evening the rains moved in. One of the outer bands of Hurricane Matthew hit us. We had off and on showers until late Saturday afternoon.

Niece Summer asked me to do the photos for her wedding to Roy and I was happy to say "yes". By the end of the night, my feet hated me but I had a great time and managed not to leave the lens cap on.
