Ferne Posted February 20, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2006 Has anyone previously done the Oceania shore excursion to Katakolon/Corfu and Delos? Could you please tell me something about the ship excursions? How large do they tend to be? Do they break you up into smaller groups for actual tours or is it one guide to 40-50 people? Thanks. jfb128 Posted February 20, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2006 Ship's tours tend to be anywhere from 20 to 40 people with the average being 30. They rarely break up into smaller groups.
Miata6 Posted February 20, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 20, 2006 Does anyone know if the Katakolon/Olympia excursion includes the archeological museum at the site? It's supposed to be one of the best but is not specifically mentioned in the excursion description.

Not sure if ship tour does it.. but you can take a taxi to Olympia and the museum is across the street from that site. Taxis were very easy. mike35 Posted February 21, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 21, 2006 We rented a car with another couple whom we met on the ship. It was right at the port of Katakalon, and we drove to Olympia - did the museum on our own (it was outstanding!) and then kind of "tagged along" with one of the Oceania guides to explore the ruins. If I recall, Oceania provided several guides, with groups split up among them. Less expensive than the ship tour, and lots of fun! Mike
