AUX ideas

taking oceania cruise with stop in marseilles. would like to go up AUX for day instead of staying in town any ideas

We did have a private guide though. It is quite a way from the port. Aux is a college town and it is charming. It is just that though. We also went to Cassis. Wonderful. I liked that much more.

I think you mean Aix en Provence. YES Cassis is lovely. The Calanques ,huge cliffs in the ocean with small creeks. At the port of Marseilles you can take a boat trip to the Calanques or a boat trip to the Chateau D'if (count of Monte Cristo fame).

We did a walking tour of Marseilles. There is also small train that does tours. Marseilles can be dangerous .stay in the main tourist area around the port.. AIX IS FAMOUS FOR ITS MARKET AND THE BEAUTIFUL STREET COURS MIRABEAU. it's all great you just need more time.
