cruzincraven Posted March 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 22, 2017 First time in San Juan! Staying at the Intercontinental Hotel two days prior to a short cruise. Will arrive on Good Friday and our cruise leaves out on Easter Sunday. Would like to tour the city on Saturday. Is it best to wait and book a tour at the hotel, call the hotel ahead of time to book or book directly with Viator or another tour company ? I am just worried with it being a holiday weekend the tours may get sold out. Appreciated any advice or recommendations!:ship::cool:
pdc2013 Posted March 25, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2017 I know you can book with the concierge in your hotel but i think they will be overwhelmed that day. Just guessing being a very busy weekend. If you can and are happy with a tour book in advance.
CleverScubaCruiser Posted March 29, 2017 #3 Share Posted March 29, 2017 I suggest that you consider a walking and tasting tour from Spoon Food Tours. We did the Sunset Walk and Taste Tour. It was a great introduction to the history of San Juan and the unique flavors and cuisine. The tour included a stop at five different restaurants where the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced. We learned so much on this tour plus we were introduced to several restaurants that if we were staying on the island, we would definitely go back to.
