MSC Divina unlimted drink package for groups.

Question for anyone that has cruised on MSC Divina with a group. We are part of a group cruising in July 2017. We were previously told we could not PRE purchase the unlimited drink package unless the whole group purchased it but each stateroom could purchase once on board. Now we are being told, no one can get unlimited unless the whole group does period. But also told there maybe some changes coming in April (which is when final payment is due) and last chance to push people to upgrade to Aurea package. As anyone else cruised as a group on MSC Divina? Is this the case?

Yes that is the policy even if one in the cabin is T total

The price of a drinks package is cheap on MSC more than half the price of some cruise company's

Also if you buy up to 6 weeks before the cruise you won't have to pay 18 per cent gratuities

We are traveling with a group of over 40 people. We are being told all the cabins have to buy it or no one can. Since we booked as a group they are telling us the whole group as to buy it. We were once told each cabin could buy it once we were on board but now they are telling us they can't.

They claim anyone traveling together needs to all buy the drink package, even when in different cabins. But we haven't found that to be the case. Last cruise we had 4 cabins booked and 1 bought the drink package and the other three did vouchers.

Not sure however if they monitor a group booking differently or not, but our cabins were all linked together. When you look at your extras that you can add on your booking are the drink packages there? If so I would let those that want it to attempt to book it.

  • 3 weeks later...

Linking the cabins together does not qualify as being in a group. Being in a group you get perks and the person who sets up the group picks the perks and makes the option to add or not add the drink package. It does go across the board if the drink package is picked all cabins will receive it. There are the classic and premium and you pick one or the other. The packages, like it was said earlier are extremely reasonable in comparison to other cruise lines.

This is from the description of our drink package on our e-ticket:

"...It must be booked by all guests occupying the same cabin, or just travelling together and wishing to eat at the same table, including minors who must book the Child version of the package. The package is not obligatory for infants under 3 years old (i.e. who have not yet reached their 3rd birthday)...."

So, if you are in a group and planning to eat at the same table you may all need a drink package.
