Carlisle Bay would probably be your best bet. It's a nice beach and close to the ship. There are many places to rent loungers/umbrellas at many of the numerous spots along Carlisle Bay, the most popular being the "Boatyard". If swimming with turtles and snorkeling at a shipwreck is something you may be interested in, there are many vendors who walk the beach to offer tours out on their boats. A guy named "Neville" gets great ratings. There is another beach that is close called Brandon's Beach. We walked over there from our ship years ago on our honeymoon. We were interested in going back on one of our recent cruises that stopped in Barbados but we found out there are no facilities, so we went to Carlisle Bay instead (got day pass at Barbados Hilton). Next time, I'd just opt for Boatyard.

I ended up taking the ships beach break. They took us to Harbor Lights. Will do it on my own next time.
