AMTRAK from Trenton to Boston

Recommended Posts

Which station would be better, Back Bay or South Station? Or, does it really matter?

Depends on where you are going.

If you're going directly to the Cruise Terminal, South Station is much closer. If you're spending time in the city, Back Bay is usually closer.

Check out a map so you can orient yourself.

If you want to go directly from the train to the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal in Boston, then South Station is better (only about a mile and a half between South Station and the cruise terminal). Map:

If you want to go directly from the train to a downtown hotel, then Back Bay station might be the better choice. Map:

In any case, Back Bay station is only about 2 miles from South Station.

If you are staying in Boston (vs straight to the pier); I'd still suggest going to South Station UNLESS you are staying at a hotel in Back Bay, and you're walking.

South Station is bigger, and there will be less of a rush to get off.

Aloha,

John
