Hi this is our first cruise into Alaska, also with HAL, and would like to connect with any other passengers who are going on on board. We are in our early 70,s and are from New Zealand, and reasonably fit for our ages, enjoy meeting other people and sharing experiences. So if you are in a similar circumstance it would be good to get contact prior to the start on our trip. Thank you John.

In case you missed it.

My own observation is that Alaska rollcalls are often pretty quiet -- do not know if that is because fewer people (percentage wise) are on Cruise Critic, or because people figure they'll be so busy with excursions or just being off the ship that they won't be looking for others (strangers) to hang around with. Eight in my family went on the Volendam last June and no one ever joined the Roll Call I started. We had a great time anyway!

That is a lovely itinerary. You visit the Alaskan ports on the weekend when there are fewer passengers and thus not crowded.
