We are off on Costa Deliziosa next month and in addition to other ports of call we go to Turkey, Constanta and Bourgas.

Does anyone know how the changes to the Turkish visa system will now affect cruise passengers and what the visa arrangements are for Bulgaria and Rumania please.

I personally would not ask questions about visas on a forum, as visa requirements can change overnight.

Best source would be FCO and the countries in question embassies UK web sites.

Rumania and Bulgaria are now both EU full members - so should not involve a visa - but check.

You definitely don´t need a visa for Turkey as there is an exemption regarding cruise ship passengers (the only other thing which has changed is that the old visa has been issued at the airport and the new one has to be applied for online).

Bulgaria and Romania are EU members but not members of the Schengen area. So check with the embassies whether you do need a visa or not. But I don´t think you need one as you are a citizen of another EU member (which is also not part of Schengen either).

Those cruise passengers coming to a Turkish port of call by a cruise ship and thereafter leave Turkey by the same cruise ship for another country, are exempt from visa for a maximum period of 72 hours (with the permission given by the local security authorities).

The passengers of cruise ships are allowed to enter and stay overnight in the port cities of Turkey upon the permission given by local border police authorities. These passengers are not required to obtain an entry visa to Turkey.

If you are flying to or from Turkey (or spend the night in Turkey anywhere, except on the cruise ship) E-visa is required.

Cruise passengers who are boarding a cruise that starts in Turkey, or are disembarking a cruise that finishes in Turkey, E-visa is required.

Passengers holding a Schengen visa or residence card EU does not need VISA for Bulgaria and Romania
