computerworks Posted May 1, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 1, 2012 Photo Tour of the Star - April 2012 We just had a great weekend getaway on the Star with a 2-day CTN (Cruise to Nowhere). We took our 2 granddaughters (ages 8 and 6). They are not rookies; this was their 5th cruise. I will post a short Review on another thread about the trip itself. Since this was our first time on the Star, I made a point of exploring the ship and taking enough pictures to give a good feel for the layout. I know there have been many "Star" questions lately, since it is new to NYC and the Bermuda run. I hope this collection will help those scheduled to travel on her this summer. computerworks Posted May 1, 2012 Author #8 Share Posted May 1, 2012 On either side of Deck 13, you can enter the Jogging Track. NOTE! - this is a great place to take sailaway and port pictures, since it is on the outside of the plexiglas barriers, giving an unobstructed photo view. computerworks Posted May 1, 2012 Author #10 Share Posted May 1, 2012 Walking Forward from there...you find a very private "quiet" zone, the Forward Sun Deck. In a warm climate, this seems like a great area...loads of loungers with windbreak panels between each row... Forward Sun Deck

computerworks Posted May 1, 2012 Author #17 Share Posted May 1, 2012 Walk up a level from Deck 12 Aft and you will find your handy, convenient helipad. :p This area has double duty as an extra sundeck and can be loaded up with loungers. I would imagine it would be a good place for parents to hang out if the kiddies were in the play area.

computerworks Posted May 1, 2012 Author #19 Share Posted May 1, 2012 Just below this area (on Deck 12) is the Teen club and Arcade The Arcade games are $1.50 a play...a far cry from 5 cent pinball. That could add up quickly.

computerworks Posted May 1, 2012 Author #23 Share Posted May 1, 2012 Walk down a flight of stairs from Cagney's and you will enter the Market Cafe. Very bright and spacious, kind of "diner" utilitarian seating. The most noticeable difference from the Jewel-class ships is that the Buffet area is on both sides of the food service area...so the Cafe has full seating areas on both port and starboard. (unlike the kitchen on port, seating on starboard of the Jewel class).
Rare www3traveler Posted May 1, 2012 #24 Share Posted May 1, 2012 Thank you for the beautiful pictures. I do not sail on Her until over Christmas and then her transatlantic next spring. I can hardly wait. Mandy
