I just saw a photo of the Diamond Princess and noticed that the port of registry has change from Hamilton to London. Further research has shown that also Sapphire Princess has also changed it port of registry. Can anyone explain why these two ships have changed their port of registry?

This was mentioned in an earlier thread...something about making business sense since they will now be based in Asia

Thank you for your quick reply Dides. I now wonder why P&O Australia ships are registered in London, yet Princess Ships (Sun,Dawn, and Sea) are registered in Hamilton, especially Sun as last year and this the ship is based in Asia for 6 months.
