Mardi Gras!

Does RC do anything special for cruises during Mardi Gras?

Yes, on Serenade earlier this year there were definitely festivities - balloon drop, beads, parade (I think). Yes, it will absolutely be recognized if you are leaving from New Orleans. Is that what you meant?

Did a RCCL Mardi Gras cruise in 2004 on Rhapsody ( my favorite ship) unfortunately the Mississippi River was closed

To ship traffic because of a naval accident . We ended up in gulf port & bussed over to New Orleans for the 2 days we were suppose to be docked in New Orleans. I don't believe they offered that cruise again.

We will be arriving on the 12th to spend a couple of nights celebrating Mardi Gras before boarding Serenade. We a looking forward to a festive time!

Oh my!!! I was on that cruise, had a great time and RCI really went out of their way to get the busses to take us to the big Easy. And you are right, they do not do this cruise anymore. Wish they would!:D

We were on Independence of the Seas for Mardi Gras, and they did a Mardi Gras version of the Mad Hatter's Ball parade that night (basically added a few Mardi Gras masks and threw out beads).
