Langley Cruisers Posted December 19, 2014 #2 Share Posted December 19, 2014 Yes, on Serenade earlier this year there were definitely festivities - balloon drop, beads, parade (I think). Yes, it will absolutely be recognized if you are leaving from New Orleans. Is that what you meant?
misselle60 Posted December 19, 2014 #3 Share Posted December 19, 2014 Did a RCCL Mardi Gras cruise in 2004 on Rhapsody ( my favorite ship) unfortunately the Mississippi River was closed To ship traffic because of a naval accident . We ended up in gulf port & bussed over to New Orleans for the 2 days we were suppose to be docked in New Orleans. I don't believe they offered that cruise again. And you are right, they do not do this cruise anymore. Wish they would!:D
ahecht Posted December 19, 2014 #6 Share Posted December 19, 2014 We were on Independence of the Seas for Mardi Gras, and they did a Mardi Gras version of the Mad Hatter's Ball parade that night (basically added a few Mardi Gras masks and threw out beads).
