Visa for abu dhabi

hi everyone i have read so many different answers on this topic i am hoping someone here who has done this can answer me:

i am on the Celebrity Constellation leaving Abu Dhabi on 4/17 i will be flying in a day or 2 before the cruise leaves. WILL I NEED A TRANSIT VISA to enter auh i am an american citizen ,,any responce would be great :)

Visa on arrival for US passports. However, check again after Trump is officially in office. If he pi..s off the Arabs in week 1, things can change very quickly! :p

Also a good option to consider is the "Marhaba" Service offered by the airport and/or Emirates and/or Etihad Airlines. Well worth the 30 or so bucks. You get whisked thru customs and immigration and bypass most of the crowds.
