Default Hilton Brand Hotel near Jaxport

I would like to use my Hilton points to stay the night before our cruise in Jacksonville. Does anyone know the closest Hilton Brand Hotel to the port and if any of the offer free cruise parking?

Hilton Hotels are, Hilton, Doubletree, Embassy Suites, Hilton Garden, Hampton...

Hey, thanks!! You did all that work for me. I did look on hilton.com but did not know how close they were to the port.

We have stayed at the Clarion at the airport before. I was hoping a hotel was closer that was part of the hilton chain.

If you take hilton out of the equation what is the closest hotel to the port?

I have read here of several cc'ers who have stayed at and reccommend the Holiday Inn Express Blount Island which is the closest motel/hotel to the cruiseport.

I don't have any info on a cruise parking package here.

We, too, have stayed at the Clarion and were very satisfied with our stay there as well as the round trip shuttle service and free parking. This November we are planning to stay at the Travelodge Inn And Suites Jacksonville Airport, using their stay, park and cruise package with free round trip shuttle.

I have been comparing the Hampton and the Hilton Garden. With our level of club membership we would get free American Breakfast and a free room upgrade at the Hilton Garden. The Hampton has a free breakfast already and we would get soda or water in the room. I am thinkint the Hilton Garden would be the best.

I was wondering the same thing (I'm a Hilton Honors Diamond Member), so I did a search and saw this thread. Thanks Kroozfoolz for the great information. Sounds like the Hilton Garden Inn will be what I book.

I couldn't find the location of JAXPORT on city maps...that was the biggest hurdle I was facing in trying to locate a hotel in the Hilton family.

Does anyone know if either the Airport Hampton Inn or the Airport Hilton Garden Inn provide airport shuttle service (I assume they do) and/or a shuttle to the port?

Thanks in advance.

If you click on the "services and amenities" tab on the websites for the Hampton Inn and the Hilton Garden Inn (see post #2 above), both hotels list "local area transportion" under personal touches. I called the Hilton and Tiffany said they do provide airport shuttle service but not transport to the cruiseport. She suggested a taxi for that - about $20-$25 for two people. (Gator City Taxi - (904) 355-8294)

You might find the JAXPORT website helpful:

I knew I had read something about the charges somewhere but really did not have the time to look for the info for Roz last night.

If you are driving, you will need to compare the price the hotel offers for shuttes and times that by how many you will need to shuttle and then remember your return trip prices with the price of parking . JAX only offers 4-5 day cruises. Normally we find it worth the money to pay for the parking at the port in JAX so we can leave as soon as we are off the ship verses waiting on a taxi or a shuttle. I guess I am saying for us even if we pay a little bit more for parking that is worth the time we do not have to wait to be shuttled back to the hotel.

Thanks for the additional info. I'll be flying and there will be just me; possibly my sister.

I saw the thing about local transportation, but wasn't sure exactly what that meant. Most of the time if they offer an airport shuttle, they call it that.

Would a hotel closer in to downtown Jacksonville (does Jacksonville even have a downtown?) be closer to the port? I've gone to the JAXPORT website but still can't find a map that shows where the port is located in relationship to the airport and other things in the city.

Thanks again for your help.

I think the closest hotel to the port is Holiday Inn (Express). I am pretty sure it boastest being the closest to the port and is either on or near St James River.

As Jsme posted above, the Holiday Inn Express is the closest motel to the cruiseport. (Airport shuttle charge - one way - $30 - http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ex/...transportation)
Jacksonville definitely has a downtown. A hotel in that area would not be closer to the cruiseport.
The only Hilton property in the Downtown/Riverside area is the Hampton Inn Central (http://hamptoninn.hilton.com/en/hp/h...tyhocn=JAXDTHX).
Mapquest puts this at 16.93 miles/ 24 minutes from the airport and 13.93 miles/20 minutes to the cruiseport. You can see this on the map here: http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1pn=JAX...:::::f:EN:M:/e
(scroll down to see the map under the directions)
A - airport
B - Hampton Inn Central
C - cruiseport
