It was our first time at the CT so I'm not sure if it was the standardised menu. It was $207 AUD but that reflects the exchange rate and the fact we don't have separate payment of gratuities.

We just did the CT on Majestic Princess - it was fantastic. 5 Canapés served with Moët in the Crown Grill Bar before moving to the table for a five course meal with matched wines. It was worth every cent and we'll do it again next time we are on Princess.

If you have mobility problems Lombok is probably a on-board day. While the new cruise ship dock makes disembarking easy, Lombok doesn’t have the footpaths that you’ll find in (parts of) Bali. On the day we arrived, there was a small number of stalls set up but otherwise there isn’t anything in the port area. Sengiggi is what the tourist areas of Bali looked like 20-30 years ago. Nice enough in the resorts but otherwise a bit rustic.

We have a Reserve Collection mini-suite and used the priority boarding lane at the OPT (although it wasn’t listed in the priority lane sign) on the ship within 15 minutes of arriving at the terminal and that included picking up our medallion.

We’re on Majestic Princess in the South Pacific, it’s fantastic and I’m sure if would be great in Alaska. The advantage this ship would have is the indoor pool and the great Hollywood Conservatory (which is free to access). I’m sure that would improve the Alaskan experience. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, I suspect those with a need to complain will find a reason to do so and forums give them a chance to so without needing to reflect on the reasonableness or otherwise. If you come prepared to have fun and enjoy your experience, I’m sure you will have a great time.

As an Aussies on a cruise in the Pacific on that day it will be interesting to see what Princess does. It has appeared on the cruise planner (yesterday) as being shown on the ship's big screen, probably because we have a number of North Americans on-board. But you're correct for most of us its going to be of passing interest at best.

Its possible that the issue wasn't the Vietnamese officials but rather they of the cruise line being aware that the Singaporean Government (the next port of call) will not allow any firearms or ammunition real, imitation or re-manufactured to be imported. When I was posted there it was an issue that the Singaporean officials took very seriously and something that would get raised with us on a regular basis.

Wouldn't happen because it would create problems with people packing their bags on the evening while still leaving enough time for the crew to pick them up for departure.

We had breakfast in the MDR and it was open on disembarkation day. It’s included in your cruise fare. Personally I didn’t rate Salt having been to one of his restaurants on land I found it pretty ordinary and not worth the additional cost.

We’ve stayed at the Kingsford Smith a couple of times. The Portside shopping area across the road (the old cruise terminal) has some reasonably priced restaurants, a good IGA supermarket and the hotel owners will run you over to the cruise terminal. The also have a nice pool which you can use even after checking out.

I’d recommend catching a ferry to Manley Beach, as noted above if you return via the overseas passenger terminal, the ferry leaves from right next door. You can also go to Watson’s Bay. The trip to parramatta (again via the ferry) is also interesting.

I suspect that the system is doing updates in the background, particularly as you get closer to your departure date. We've had the same problem but when we log back in (after they reestablish the link to PW or cruise number) there are significantly more activities listed. My guess is they disable the log ins do the updates and then re-establish the link. Don't panic it seems to fix itself after a couple of hours (although you will need to log back in)
